November 11-13, the “Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)-Japanese New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)-Japanese Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) Workshop 2007 on Fuel Cell and Hydrogen” was held in my Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP). This workshop was co-organized by the CAS, AIST and NEDO. Prof. Huamin Zhang served as the conference chairman.
NEDO belongs to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), in charge of the organization, implement and management of advanced technology and Industrial projects in Japan. AIST is an association of research institutes belongs to METI, in charge of the development of advanced technology. In order for further communication and cooperation between Chinese and Japanese scientists, CAS, NEDO and AIST made an agreement to organize workshop on advanced technology and hot topic throughout the world. Till now, three workshops have been organized on areas of biomass energy, nanotechnology and clean coal technology.
The special topic of this workshop is hydrogen energy and fuel cell. 16 scholars and experts from Changchun Institute of Applied chemistry, Shanghai Institute of ceramics, Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and information Technology, DICP, NEDO and AIST joined this workshop. They gave reports on fuel cell technology, hydrogen storage technology and hydrogen separation technology. During the workshop, all experts and scholars from China and Japan enjoyed a thorough talk and discussed, and they hoped to deepen the academic exchanges and cooperation on fuel cell and hydrogen energy.
