Ranging from May 17th-18^th, 2004, the 1th DICP-SAMSUNG Fuel Cell conference has been held in DICP, which was participated by DICP and Samsung comprehensive tech institute, and supported by Dalian government and the bureau of Dalian eco-tech development zone. Huamin Zhang, assistant of head of DICP and the DICP-SAMSUNG fuel cell cooperative laboratory, was elected as conference chairman, Shanhui Zhen the deputy director and Durong Chen from Samsung comprehensive tech institute, Chenpei Tian the director from Samsung Heavy Industries, Fuhuan Zhen from Samsung data, Dayi Huang the director researcher from Samsung fine chemistry, Xiangyang Huang the vice head of DICP, academician Baolian Yi, researcher Gongquan Sun etc. had attended the conference. Xiangyang Huang and Shanhui Zhen gave their address respectively, declaiming to enhance interaction and cooperation and the development of fuel cell technology.

This seminar focused on the latest development of proton-exchange membrane fuel cell, the key materials and technology of direct alcohol fuel cell. October,2003, the Fuel Cell cooperative laboratory has been established by DICP and comprehensive tech institute of Samsung Co., together with two first cooperative tasks being started as to” proton-exchange membrane fuel cell” and ” direct alcohol fuel cell”. This conference has its importance in promoting information exchange, inter-understanding and enhancing the cooperation. The DICP-SAMSUNG Fuel Cell Seminar is decided to be commenced annual, and the 2^nd would be held in 2005, South Korea.
