The annual concluding meeting of 973 Program, “basic research on large scale energy storage system with high efficient redox flow battery”, was held in DICP on 15th Nov, 2010, chaired by Professor Huamin ZHANG, program chief scientist. Responsible experts, consulting experts and program principals attended the meeting.
The chief scientist and other directors of the program reported their research progresses and achievements in 2010 and projected the research target of next year. The attendant experts remarked highly on the current achievements and approved the systematic work and tight connections of each sub-project. At the meantime, they suggested the correlation and mutual communication of all program participators should be further fortified to take deep in the key problems in the R&D of redox flow batteries. The bottleneck of extended use of renewable energy lies in large scale energy storage technology. The experts were looking forward to applying the accomplishments of the program in practice to meet the nation’s urgent demand.
