On March 3, vice president and chief engineer of China Electric Power Research Professor Guo Jianbo and deputy chief engineer Prof. Hu Xuehao came to have a research on the application prospect of flow energy storage battery in the power system. Prof. Zhang Huamin received the visiting researchers.

Prof. Guo Jianbo and Prof. Hu Xuehao introduced the development situation of Chinas power industry and the development priorities of "Eleventh Five-Year" period. Prof. Zhang Huamin introduced the development situation and prospects of the flow battery energy storage. The two sides discussed technical issues of the flow storage batteries used as power storage system with the grid matching, and then formed the next cooperation.

To ensure reliability of supply, the energy storage (power storage) device must be supplied. Redox flow battery energy storage is one of a large-scale power storage technology. In 2005,the National Development and Reform Commission included redox flow battery energy storage in the "guiding the development of the renewable energy industry directory" and guide government departments to formulate supporting policies to guide the research institutions and enterprises R&D demonstration projects and invests. In the "Eleventh Five-Year" period we will continue to strengthen the flow battery energy storage research and the development work.
