June 9, the 55KW/1MWh VFB unit storage system with independent property rights developed by DALIAN RONGKE POWER CO. Ltd and Energy Storage Division of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics passed through the acceptance check by its owner Liaoning power economy Ltd. Corporation. Highly integrated MW leveled energy storage system with compact structure can be organized on basis of the 500KW/1MWh unit.

Critical performance of DC electrical efficiency, alternating current efficiency and capacity were tested.  In addition, battery management system, energy management system, on situ monitor system and DC-AC converter were also tested. All these tests showed good performances of the system and met the project requirements.

Integrated 3MW/6MWh leveled energy storage system with compact structure organized on basis of the 500KW/1MWh unit can be matched with the 145MW wind farm to smooth power output according to terminal consumption. On basis of the battery storage system, a smart micro-grid can be constructed to adapt to changes from terminal users and grid crack down, many problems in traditional grid system can be avoid using the smart micro-grid. Because of the many advantages of the smart micro-grid, as critical part of the smart micro-grid, VFR battery storage system is expected a brighter future in power generation system, especially in renewable power generation.
