Vice Chairman of the National People’s Congress， Central Chairman of the Jiusan Society HAN Qide leading officers from the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the State Administration of Taxation, in company with officers of Liaoning Province and Dalian，arrived in Rongke Power Co. Ltd. to survey the low carbon economy and green architecture。Chief engineer and vice-general manager Prof. ZHANG Huamin of Rongke Power Co. Ltd. gave a presentation on Solar Power-Energy Storage Flow Battery Integrated Green Building Program and Technical Progress and Industry Development Plan for Energy Storage Flow Batteries. Director ZHANG Tao of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics accompanied the visit.

Vice Chairman HAN Qide enquired the electricity generation-storage-consuming process and the demonstration status for the green building and showed great interest in the application of VRBs. He emphasized the importance of energy storage in renewable energy industry and encouraged the rapid development and industrialization of energy storage batteries to assist the low carbon economy.

The 60 kW Solar Power-Energy Storage Flow Battery Integrated Green Building Program was designed and installed in Rongke Power Co. Ltd., Dec. 2009. Equipped with solar-cell panels at seven sites of the architecture, including the roof, the facade curtain wall, the visors, and the canopy, and integrated with the 60 kW/300 kWh VRB energy storage system, the office building is self-sufficient for the lighting of the 6000 m2 R&D center. The yearly photovoltaic electricity produce of the building is predicted to be more than 42 thousands kWh.
