Recently, two groups of visitors from China Energy-Saving & Environmental Protection Holdings Co.(CESEP) and Sumitomo Electric Industries of Japan have carried out respectively exchange visits on redox flow cell technology to DICP.
The CESEP delegation headed by Mr. ZOU Jiefu, Chief Engineer of the company, conducted discussions with Prof. ZHANG Huamin on the technical features and market prospects of the redox flow cells, and showed great interest in these cells as an important supporting technology for energy saving. They also highly evaluated the progress made by the DICP researchers.
The five visitors from Sumitomo, including Dr. Yoshihiro Hirata, Chief Research Scientist of the NEXT Research Center of the company, and Dr. Yasumitsu Tsutsui, Head of the Secondary Cells Research Department of the Energy System Institute of Sumitomo, had a broad discussion with Prof. ZHANG Huamin on the recent progress made for this redox flow cells internationally, as well as the challenges faced in the commercialization of this technology. They expressed high appreciation for the speed and level attained in the development of key materials and cell stacks by DICP and the Rongke Energy Storage Co., the latter a subsidiary firm of DICP. They also hoped that a substantial cooperation with the Rongke Co. could be realized soon.
