After a series of evaluations, including a primary professional evaluation via the Internet, a high-level professional experts evaluation and an interdisciplinary strategic experts assessment, this project was approved by the State Ministry of Science & Technology to become one of the research projects in the State “973” Key Program. The goal of this project is to fulfill the needs for large scale energy storage technology in the renewable energy industries such as solar energy and wind energy, especially for the needs of load balancing, utility and intelligent electricity grids. The ive of the project is focused on the solving of key problems which are hindering the popularization of the flow batteries. The research emphasis will be put on basic theories and technologies of large scale and highly efficient flow batteries, including the designing, preparation and scaling up of key materials, simulation of structure design, system coupling technology and energy controlling tactics, which will constitute a theoretical system for the scaling up of energy storage devices. Besides DICP as the leading organization, collaborating partners of the project include Central & South University, CAS Institute of ls, Tsinghua University, Institute of Chemical Prevention, Chinese Institute of Electric Power Science, Central China University of Science & Technology, and Dalian Rongke Energy Storage Development Ltd. 2009.10.23 |
