Significant progress in MEA technology of atmospheric pressure fuel cell

 To solve the problem of serious power consumption due to air compressor, and the complexity and difficulty of the control system in the engines of high-pressure operation of fuel cell, New Energy Laboratory decided to develop atmospheric pressure proton exchange membrane fuel cell engine at the end of 2004. Overcoming difficulties for 3 months, 303 Group led by Prof. Zhang Huamin has achieved major breakthrough in the manufacturing technology of key components of the fuel cell —three-in-one membrane-electrode. Single-cell maximum power density is up to 0.52W/cm2, and the voltage is 0.64V when working in current density of 700mA/cm2, whose performance is quite comparable to foreign famous enterprises, reaching the international advanced level. It will play an important role in enhancing the overall level in the fuel cell of our DICP.
